This illustration depicts the major chakras anterior view. Chakra means spinning wheel. A chakra is a spinning wheel of elemental prana. There are five major chakras situated within the spine as part of the central operating system of the etheric body. The root chakra or earth chakra is located at the tip of the coccyx. The water chakra is located within the sacrum. The fire chakra is located posterior to the umbilical center. The air chakra is located posterior to the mid point of the sternum. The ether chakra is located posterior to the throat. The eye center chakra is known as the ajna chakra and is associated with the pineal gland.The eye center chakra is the central point of consciousness between the soul and the mental body. This center is also known as the third eye. The yellow lines depict the movement of the connecting currents allowing all the chakras to function as a cooperating system. There are three connecting midline currents. The central current is the shusumna. The right current is the pingala. The left current is the ida.The arrows coming off of the spinning chakras depict the creation of the long currents and the direction of the long currents inner spin. The inner portion of the long currents on the right side of the illustration spin counterclockwise. The inner portion of the long currents on the left side of the illustration spin clockwise.
